Well, if you’re lucky you get paid by the minute, and you’re probably at the bottom of the food chain with your little friends, so you get paid for the time you spend taking the photos. We all have our limits, but I can say that, at the time of writing, I know of at least 8 people on the internet that own professional digital SLR’s that shoot at up to ISO 3200. It’s also the camera I have my camera with on all day, every day and I only get paid when, to quote my mom, my “face is lit!” I can’t really comment on how many others get paid, but it seems that it’s definitely a pretty common thing. There are countless tutorials, posts, videos and articles around the web for the basics of shooting and what needs to be done. This way he could afford to send an assistant out to pick up the new car and pay for gas and all the things that can go wrong while picking up that car. Of course, he’s got a huge amount of cash to drop, but I still believe he could have made more with a bit of practice, and you can help. It’s not like most of us don’t already have thousands, or millions, of dollars to spend, but if you really want to go full time freelancing, be creative, do it yourself and keep your costs as low as possible, you will not only be able have more time to work with your clients, but you will also make more money. What else can we learn out there? When it comes to the subject of photography, the only thing you have to do is practice, practice, practice, like the old saying goes. It’s the same thing for working on your business online. If you have the skills needed to do it, you can get a foot in the door. There are a lot of things that go wrong because you can only focus on “practice”. Don’t just read all the tutorials, be proactive and do your research and just start from the basics.
