Thunder coach Billy Donovan, the team’s athletic trainer, says he’s seen it go down this way. It’s almost a no-huddle play.
(Lightning players are supposed to be “lapping the floor.”)
“When you look at guys, guys like (Nikola) Roshan (Lash), they are a handful,” Donovan said. “We have a lot of different kinds of bigs that make an impact on the game. But I think we need to be able to run one on one games.”
Thunder fans certainly are happy to take the Thunder’s offense to the next level.

You’ll see more of this from Donovan over the next 12 months, as players like Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka and Steven Adams all look to add more variety to the game. He is one of the main architects on the Thunder’s blueprint to make their offense more fluid.
Donovan also understands that, like any player, it’s not a great idea to just hang out in one position for too long.
“You have to make your moves, you have to execute,” he said. “The players that were so great in college and overseas were great at that. You just have to stay in position and execute in the way that we want to execute, which is not in a linear way. It’s not going to be, ‘I’m a guard, here I am.’ You have to execute in the flow of what we want to execute.”
So, is there really a no-huddle play?
It’s certainly not as common during practice. That’s understandable, because most players prefer the slower pace. It’s a way to make life easier on the team while maximizing their skills. It doesn’t hurt the team when they’re playing together like the Thunder this year.
“You can have a long conversation just on your rhythm,” Durant said. “That is a no-huddle type of thing. Just tell us which pass to do and we can be sure that’s going to be our pace through the game.
“I think it’s easy for the players to communicate that, and you don’t have to talk
