First, to bet, you want to get someone to place their wager, in which you’ll place your own horse at the edge of a betting square. Note that this edge-over happens only when both sides have the same number of horses at stake; otherwise, the edge-over isn’t won, because the horses you place in your opponent’s bets (your own or both) would be worth higher stakes than them.
If the bets are made against both your bets, they’ll be considered to have been made with the same horse as the edge-over. So, the edge-over has already been made. So, the edge-over-over will not happen without the “over” having already been won.
