Snyder said she was looking forward to her first debate. Her opponent, state Rep. Pat Hickey, said she made a lot of “disrespectful” comments by saying she and Pappas “weren’t on a first date.”
“I’m not in a relationship, and I have not asked her to date me,” Hickey said.
The presidential election is Nov. 8. It is unlikely for any incumbent elected official to lose, since there are almost two dozen Democratic women who are running.

The City of Montreal is considering introducing charges for all unauthorized storage of fireworks, starting at $500 fine.
The ordinance “would make storage of fireworks a crime under the Municipal Fire Statute,” according to a Montreal Gazette report on Tuesday.
The new ordinance would also allow residents to lock away fireworks in the basement of their residence to keep them from being stored outdoors, the newspaper reported.
Under current city rules, residents need to be at least 18 to legally possess fireworks.

Trump is winning GOP nomination with evangelicals
Donald Trump’s strong performance among GOP primary voters in Saturday night’s “South Carolina Democratic Debate” came on the heels of an unexpectedly strong showing from his family.
The Donald won evangelical support, beating out former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in the evangelical community.
According to a Post/ABC poll conducted late Friday, evangelical support for Trump was at 51 percent, while Bush came in fourth with 17 percent. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was in fifth place with 14 percent, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich was in sixth, with just 5 percent.
Trump, who took advantage of the national attention to the debate by posting a video of himself on Twitter, ran even with Bush among evangelicals.
