We are not talking about the kind of tattoos that are permanently installed into the body but more of the kind that you put on the back of your arm for the same reason that you put up a picture of your dog on your door. For some reason, it is a more effective and attractive design than what they are wearing right now. For them.
This is where Samoan tattoos come to the rescue. These have never been available in any form in the States, though the Samoan tattoo shop in Los Angeles is very close by. From there they will take one of the best American designers on the planet and turn him into something new.
I’m curious to see what other people will come up with — will anyone get the tattoos? I also wonder if people will start putting tattoos on other places than just their arms for the same reason that they are in their new home country. Will this lead to us finding a place in the world that is more accepting of our presence, or is it just the people in the States who are accepting of who we are? Hopefully we will hear from anyone with any thoughts on this matter.
The city of Montreal has approved plans to renovate the old theatre into a public space filled with cultural exhibits, including a skate park, a cultural hub, and a festival space for artists. The complex, located in the St. Lawrence Market, will house the McGill Institute for the Arts and the Cultural Centre d’Histoire de Montréal.
The design of the new complex is the brainchild of former University of Montreal executive vice-president and chief marketing officer Patrick Boucher.
It will feature a skateboard park, a cultural hub, and a festival space for artists.
A skate park to house the cultural centre will include a skateboarding area set up by the City of Montreal. The skatepark will run behind the Cultural Centre, and is scheduled to be finished in 2016. The skatepark is set to be built before the end of the summer.
The cultural hub, located just behind the skatepark, will host concerts, symposia, and art screenings.
The city will be financing the entire process through an open competition where anyone and everyone in the community will be allowed to pitch an idea, although the project should be sustainable.
The project will also involve an urban farm and will incorporate many of the existing community spaces and amenities.
