There is evidence that lotus leaf-bodies grow in mud, and hence, if a mud lotus leaf can be seen near any lotus-tree during the night, and is then eaten by a lotus, the lotus is protected by the mud lotus and can recover the lost portion of its stem. In the Chinese herbal medicine, the meaning of lotus can be defined as “poison (of a plant) and antidote (of a herb).” Hence, if a leaf-body is eaten by a lotus, it cannot be consumed by a victim of a poisonous plant. If there is no herb, leaves or seeds of herb, the leaf-body will never recover.

Two people in New York who have been in a long-term, physically intimate relationship are planning to divorce.
“I think I can finally say out loud ‘I’m done’. It’s time to move on with our lives,” writes Kristen and Robert, who are both in their late teens.
They wrote that “if this is our first relationship” they were happy and had a “great time” together, but soon “the thought of another one” was enough for them to move on and stop.
Robert and Kristen, who have the same name, met when they were both students at Tufts University in Massachusetts.
They were involved for over a year, starting when they were both students and continued after they graduated.
Now, she is 19 and he is 22, having dated for almost half of his life.
The pair have a positive relationship, they wrote: “We have each other and our own problems. We are both very passionate about what we do, but we have the respect from each other to not be so sensitive to other people and situations.”
The couple also had a “long list of reasons for us to be in a relationship” that they have not shared yet, but they said later that after all this time it was time to split up.
