Some, including The New York Times, are calling for all tribal symbols to be banned.
But it appears that tattoos are on the decline across the country, according to a new survey conducted by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, a group dedicated to the “development of standards and guidance for all aesthetic procedures,” surveyed 2,000 men on all 30 states and the District of Columbia for their tattoo experiences, both recent and recent history and popularity, and for whether tattoos are still seen as a sign of self-expression.
The results:
40% of the respondents in the survey reported no tattoos.
21% reported wearing a tribal tattoo after a year has passed.
15% wore tattoos for a month before the survey.
23% said they’d had a tattoo in the past year.
27% said tattoos are in decline.
18% admitted having tattoos in the past year.
The majority of men, 63%, did not wear a tribal tattoo.
The majority of women, 46%, did wear a tribal tattoo.
The majority of the respondents in each state — both current and recent — considered traditional tattooing “an acceptable way to express yourself,” with the notable exception of Florida.
The new “Buffy” episode airing Tuesday night won’t be the last that the series will air.
The network has picked up five of the nine episodes that run through Dec. 11 for Season 7, giving it 12 more episodes per season, TVLine has learned.
The additional episodes will be ordered by the network’s original series committee, which currently is reviewing and voting on the scripts and other material.
The shows in contention are “The Body,” “Heaven Sent” and “The Harvest” — all of which have been well-received by fans, with “His Girls” in the mix as well.
And with that much extra episodes, TVLine expects to see a “Buffy” renewal or renewal for at least four seasons — a figure that should rise by some way.

The network hasn’t announced any new seasons since its first on Dec. 4, 2013.
