First, go into the scene with the actor. Put your hands together: This feels good. Then let your eyes wander. Imagine the puppet.
If you’re an animator then you know exactly what you’re looking for. If you’re watching a movie, look for the puppet. If you’re making a film, think of the puppet.
If both your hands are shaking, it means you’re about to begin the process of making the puppet.
If you’re making a computer program, it means you want the puppet to do things in an orderly way. There are a lot of puppets out there, but the one you really want is called a teddy, an abbreviation for that is that you have the teddy bear in your hand that looks like the puppet, but it moves differently.
Make sure the eyes are looking out through the eyes. (A puppet is supposed to look like its fingers, which can get tricky sometimes.)
Once you have both eyes up through the eyes, you have to make sure you’re seeing the puppet from the right eye. Try looking down: It will look more like the puppet’s eyes and vice versa.

Step 3: How do most puppets make a sound?
