The Certificate:
The Certificate is valid for five years. It teaches you the skills required to use a health and safety assessment program at school and offers practical exercises and the practice of proper use of a health and safety assessment program as well as how to apply the assessment and other health programs to a new student. The Certificate also provides practical application of the health and safety assessment program. This practice provides students, regardless of their current education, with a high level of knowledge about what it takes to successfully complete a program of health and safety assessments. The Certificate also covers what the health and safety assessment program is and how to get started preparing for it.
Note: A Health and Safety Assessment Program, also called a Safety Assessment Program is required of all students who have earned a certificate. A safety assessment program, also known as an education requirements training, is required of all students who have earned a certificate.
Program Requirements: This Certificate offers a variety of courses that are specific to a given department or field of study. All departments that offer a Health and Safety Assessment Program require at least one additional certification course beyond the Certificate of Health and Safety Assessment. Each course also has a number of different assessment topics related to that program. Students must take all courses listed above in order to earn the certificate. Note: Some institutions require that you meet graduation requirements before you can take the course. Some institutions require you to use all course materials required prior to graduation. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these requirements, please contact your campus office or individual course coordinator to make sure that all procedures are in place prior to registration.
What can’t I do with an AHS certification?
The certificate is valid only in conjunction with the Health and Safety Assessment program. The Certificate can not be used to obtain a license to practice a health care certification field. It cannot be used to obtain or renew a health care license or certificate. It cannot be used for employment purposes, such as a license or certification for work in a nursing home, a nursing school, or a medical facility.
