Which coaching certification is best? – Coach Waiver Form

What about your experience with other coaching programs, and which do you think is a better fit?

I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with some really great coaches. I have never worked with another coach and I have no idea why. There are few that I would consider elite level coaches. The coaching programs I used in my time overseas were all elite, so I felt there was something special about coaching with an elite coach. I would love to work with an elite coach again.

What advice would you give to people who want to pursue a coaching position? Or if you have no interest in the coaching industry: who are some of the coaches you have followed/embraced?

Don’t assume any coaching is necessarily ‘better’ than other types. There are many types of coaching, as well as some that are ‘great’ and some that are ‘bad’. I would suggest you look to see what kind of coach/tutor/coach/personal trainer you are attracted to and compare it to the type of work you were interested in before you became a coach. I think it’s important to find out what type of coach/tutor/coach/coach you like, and then stick with that type until they change or you change to another type. I was fortunate to have a good mentor, who was very supportive in providing me with feedback from my work outside coaching opportunities. He was able to give me feedback because he was a good coach and I was willing to listen.

Have you had any coaching opportunities that were mutually beneficial to you and you chose to continue working together?

I have had some coaching opportunities that were mutual beneficial — they required a change in perspective or approach and I think the result was that they improved my practice and helped me become a more efficient personal trainer. I had a positive work/life balance and was able to concentrate on making more money, which is always nice.

In what areas do you think the industry is ripe for improvement?

Coaching Model: Built To Soar

The training industry is ripe for progress. Although I am currently using some of the same tools as in other training venues, I think there is an opportunity to continue to innovate to bring new training tools and practices to the market, allowing trainees and prospective trainers to be more selective in choosing what kind of training they want and need to work with. The training industry isn’t the only work-life balance issue that needs addressing.
