Manuel Rodriguez, who worked for Vitter’s office, and Peter Ferrioli, a former legislative and political consultant for the Senate Republican Conference, will participate in a closed-door meeting Tuesday with the special counsel’s team, a lawyer for both men said.

Rodriguez is one of several witnesses Mueller has invited to testify at the public hearings that he is set to hold on Thursday at the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
The four special counsel officials also will appear at a public hearing on Wednesday.
The meeting with the special counsel team took place at the Old Senatorial Institute in the Rayburn House Office Building, according to Rodriguez, who will testify alongside Ferrioli and former campaign manager Joe Carr, according to the lawyer, Tom Devine.
The witnesses have received permission to appear in private and are not allowed to reveal any details about the inquiry.
In a statement Tuesday, Vitter spokesman Brian Stull said the two have “all the best interests of Louisiana in mind.”
“As Mr. Rodriguez has indicated, their participation in this open forum was an opportunity to testify about their work for Senator Vitter during his time with the United States Senate,” Stull said.
He added the two would speak to “any topic related to their respective roles.”
