This is a terrible question. It should never have to be answered. However, after reading through over 25 years of music-writing, I have come up with this simple question:
Who is your personal favorite song on this album?
I don’t know, just think of it as a test. If you are not able to answer this question (I know you are!), you will be forced into listening more of a song than you want. But that doesn’t mean you should not look over the album and find it that you cannot appreciate how great the song is.
So let me give you the answers:
1. I’m not sure. Maybe “You’re so Good to Me” by The Kinks. The song is so memorable, you only need a couple of listens and you will really know it.
2. I was listening to it on repeat today and it blew my mind how well it fits the entire album. Just listen to that last few notes and keep thinking about “Why not me.”
3. I guess any song in here would do if you can think back to when you were a child and had your favorite artists. “Auld Lang Syne” by Frank Sinatra. I remember going through these songs and how wonderful it was for me, and I could easily hear something that I know would later inspire me to go out and be a musician.
4. “Come Together” by George Michael. I feel like this song can stand up anywhere in the world and still work, so many times I listen to it to get all the feeling I had when I was a child, I know it was amazing. That’s really all I can say about it.
